Watson Ranch Vineyard is perched on a steep hillside overlooking the San Pablo Bay at the southernmost end of the Napa Valley. The cool windy conditions and calcareous soil produce wines with ample natural acidity and salinity. Watson Ranch Chardonnay by Arnot-Roberts is a beautifully fresh white which has more in common with Chablis than the overblown Chardonnays traditionally associated with California.

Lean, minerally Chardonnay with lovely freshness and fine honeyed citrus and floral flavours.
Watson Ranch is typical of the Arnot-Roberts style which favours freshness above overly ripe fruit.
Unlike much California Chardonnay, this is beautifully understated, like a top Chablis.
This is perfect to drink now, but could be stored for a few years.
Try it with simple fish dishes.
